Since we’re currently living in Lexington, Kentucky, Austin and I knew that we couldn’t let this time pass without taking a day trip up to Louisville. Austin had always wanted to visit the Slugger Museum & Factory so we chose the ideal Saturday for our everyday adventure and to make that dream come true. Our morning started out at the Lexington Farmer’s Market (which I wrote about here.) After lunch we made the drive to Louisville where we toured the museum and learned so much about baseball history and were able to witness the process of the bats being made. (If you’re ever in the area, definitely stop by the museum – it’s pretty amazing.) Aside from our day being filled with baseball bats and other such summertime joys, our ravenous hunger forced to eat the world’s worst sausage from a street cart before walking around the Historic Downtown and then ending our day on a gloriously relaxing note at Talon Winery & Vineyards. In short, it was a simple, ordinary, everyday sort of adventure. More often than not, though, those types of adventures are my favorite kind.

What is a favorite ordinary everyday adventure of yours?

Have you ever been to Louisville or the Slugger Museum?

Looks like so much fun! I adore the architecture down there, as well!

  • So cute! I’m on the Kentucky/Ohio border this week for a conference so I don’t think I’l make it to any of the big cities. But that just means I get to take another trip here soon!(:

I’ve only passed through Louisville – I spent a night there on my way to Tennessee and I wish I had spent more time exploring!

  • I love downtown Louisville. Especially the riverfront! I lived there for 5 years so this brings back lots of happy memories!
