Currently, my husband and I are living a nomadic life, traveling around the country, and moving every month or two. Since we actually get the time to settle into each new location before we have to pack up and venture out on the road again, I’ve been able to find a coffee place to turn into my Happy-Hangout-Place. For each place that we move, I am planning to share my favorite local coffee spot with all of you. For our time in Portland, Oregon, the title goes to…
Art for the sake of art. Coffee for the sake of coffee.
As we awake each morning, we count ourselves fortunate to be honored with the task of creating amazing beverages with phenomenal products. In a world where automated systems are replacing skilled artisans, we strive to perfect the craft of specialty coffee and savor each day with which we are blessed.
On multiple mornings, after driving with Austin to work, I’d take the car and spend the rest of my day at Insomnia Coffee (the Tanasbourne location.) The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, the coffee was downright delicious, and there was a Whole Foods within walking distance that I could head to for lunch before getting back to my computer and getting back to work back at the coffee shop for the rest of the afternoon.
Austin loved their Aztec Mochas while I enjoyed their Cold Brew on warmer afternoons and either an Americano, Cappuccino, or Matcha Latte on chilly mornings.
Their lovely little paper airplanes made me grin every time…
“Enjoy the Good”
What a perfect reminder to be greeted with in the morning as you set our to start your day.
“Yes! please borrow a blanket to enjoy our outdoor seating.”
When I saw that sign, I knew that this place was a keeper. Cozy blankets are my favorite.
(On Fridays they have pie. Yes please.)
Have you ever been to Insomnia Coffee while in Oregon?
