Happy Wednesday, my friends! Today I want to introduce you all to my favorite discovery from my recent Portland Adventures…
Welcome to KURE Juice Bar.
Conveniently found in several locations in Downtown Portland, KURE is THE PLACE for cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and the most amazing out-of-this-world smoothie bowls. I was intrigued when I spotted it while walking past on my way to Powell’s, so I decided to step in and give it a try and holy-moly am I glad that I did. I have been searching for these smoothie bowls my entire life and, once I found them, I kept coming back for more.
KURE quickly became my favorite breakfast, lunch, snack, and just-because spot in Portland.
Sunnyside Acai Bowl: acai berries, banana, strawberries, vegan vanilla protein, and apple juice topped with banana, strawberries, chopped hazelnuts, goji berries, hemp seed granola, shredded coconut, and cinnamon.
Kind Cartel Macro Bowl: steamed quinoa and kale, roasted maple carrots and cauliflower, mesclun greens, chickpeas, shredded beets, crushed almonds, garlic herb tahini sauce, hemp seeds, and parsley.
Zen Master Bowl: avocado, vegan vanilla protein, matcha, coconut water, spinach, coconut manna, dates, and coconut yogurt topped with strawberries, hemp seed granola, shredded coconut, and coconut manna drizzle.
The Zen Master was my favorite and I would take the train the full 40ish minutes from my apartment and then walk several blocks so I could have it for lunch.
Kid Kyoto Smoothie: avocado, matcha, dates, spinach, vegan vanilla protein, coconut water, and coconut manna.
Honey Bee Good Bowl: coconut water, coconut manna, almond butter, kale, local bee honey, and coconut yogurt topped with banana, bee pollen, gem gluten-free granola, sliced almonds, local bee honey, and cinnamon.
Their smoothie bowls are thick and not watery and I love that you don’t have to ask and make sure if there are any added sugars hiding in their ingredients. Everything is top-notch quality and oh-so-fresh and they blew me away every time.
Quinoa Comfort Hot Cereal: quinoa, almond milk, sunflower butter, blueberry compote, gem gluten-free granola, shredded coconut, cacao nibs, hemp seeds, cinnamon, maple syrup, and sea salt.
We’ve since left Portland and moved to South Carolina for a few weeks, and I’m already missing KURE juice bar and their Zen Master Bowl and their Kid Kyoto Smoothie in particular. It’s probably a good thing that I don’t live close anymore, because otherwise, I’d be seriously tempted to go every single day.
